About this tool

Changing the case of text by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. This converter handles everyday writing tasks such as fixing text typed with Caps Lock on, formatting headlines, or capitalising the first letter of each sentence, and developer tasks such as turning a phrase into a variable name.

Title Case follows the common style where short words like “and”, “of” and “the” stay lowercase unless they start a sentence. camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case and CONSTANT_CASE are applied line by line, so you can convert a whole list of names at once.

Frequently asked questions

Does Title Case work for every style guide?

It uses a simple, widely used rule: capitalise every word except short articles, conjunctions and prepositions that are not at the start of a sentence. Style guides such as APA, AP and Chicago differ in small details, so check important headlines by eye.

What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?

Both remove spaces and capitalise each new word. camelCase starts with a lowercase letter (myVariableName) while PascalCase starts with an uppercase letter (MyVariableName).

Are my line breaks kept?

Yes. Writing cases keep your text exactly as it is apart from the letters. Code cases (camelCase, snake_case and so on) treat every line as a separate name.

Can I undo a conversion?

Yes. Undo steps back through your last 20 conversions in this session.
